Castro educates doctors for Bush!
On tuesday, 8 american doctor students graduated in Cuba and are now on their way back to USA to practice. Cuba's Socialist welfare state has payed for the students 6-year studies. The students are from New York, Minnesota and California.
" I have learned that medicine is not a business. I think this will make me a better doctor when i move back to USA" says one of the newly graduated students.
Cuba has covered the full cost of their studies and in return, the students promise to offer health services to those in need. All the students come from minority groups in USA and have been lucky to be allowed by their government to study in the socialist regime. USAs blokade on Cuba has prevented many students from visiting Cuba, but the congress has made an acception after a long meeting with Cubas president: Fidel Castro.
Around 850 students from 25 different countries recently graduated in a ceremony held in the "Karl-Marx Theatre" Havana, Cuba. Castro could not personally be at the ceremony. Cubas 80 year old president: Fidel Castro has had a lot of problems with his health lately and has not been able to appear as a public figure. However he says that he is happy to be able to offer american students something that they can't get in their home country.
A doctors degree course in America can cost up to 300,000 £ and many students suffer from massive debts for years later.
The health care system in Cuba does not view the healing arts as a profit-business. When you are sick, they don't take money from you and don't deny you help if you do not have insurance, says Jose De Leon whom is trying to work for health care reforms in USA.

An MD degree will cost up to 50k/year on average, sometimes up to 74k (Uni of Colorado). Med school, unless you're doing an MD/PhD, is 4 years. That's approximately $200 for med school, far cheaper than what's listed in the OP's post. Still a hefty sum, but let's not overexagerate the numbers please.
And yes, the healing arts is a business. If I'm gonna be a neurosurgeon, there better be enough money to cover my practice and my malpractice. Tell me again how many people can be quality surgeons? More money = better doctors.

The healing arts is NOT a business. By making it a business we will be allowing for money to sub-ordinate this vital human necessity. Healthcare is a human need and it shouldn't be acceptable to deny people of this because of their social status. Can you explain to me exactly what the relation is between more money and better doctors? This isn't logic, money has nothing to do with how much of a qualified doctor you are.

Well Cuba has been known for their multitude of doctors, and this isn't the first time Fidel has offered to either train them or sent them into the field in other countries.

Of course it's acceptable. If another physician wants to take care of the poor, they can. Sat in a medical school class lately? Sat with a surgeon in residency for 5 years making $40k working in excess of the 80 hour/week minimum? It's lopsided, people take physicians for granted and it's sickening. No physician should be restrained by a salary cap, never. No microsurgeon should ever receive the same pay as a family care doctor. The abilities of a physician are an asset and carry a value that is unique to a very select few in their own respective fields.

Of course! Where did i state otherwise? I would be the last person to deny people the fruits of their labour. All im trying to say is that you shouldn't be denied healthcare just because you are poor, vital human necesseties like healthcare should be subsidised by the government. This doesn't mean that physicians would make any less money..

Its not like the commies can educate anyone themselves. They have to use capitalist nations to educate their people.
