Default Land Transfer Taxes

Do you support them? Right now North Carolina is being faced with the benevolent offer to chose between a hike in our land transfer tax and our sales tax.

I'm getting sick of the NC tax system that ambushes it's residents at every corner. No matter how much of a surplus the State is running, it finds ways to confiscate more for any reason.

My car is still registered in NC, It's sooooooo much cheaper. Taxes are 6 times higher here than they are in Greensboro.

And Greensboro has/had the highest property tax in NC. NC isn't the highest Tax State in the country, but it's low per-capita income raises the individual tax burden.

Not to mention that they've taken hundreds of thousands of dollars out of the transportation fund.

Which begs the question, why are they still taxing us so much when they aren't spending money on the things we need and are saving the rest in bulk... for WHAT?

$1.5 million a room? New Hanover and Pender counties are pretty much owned by the constuction and real estates industries. Normal citizens have no chance at getting into state government, unless they are funded by real estate and construction lobbys.

I'd never guess that. Being on the Coastal Plain......and New Hanover.....isn't Cherry Point there?
