Default On Locking Threads

Do me a favor, please, PLEASE, moderators: if you're going to lock it, just DELETE IT. Nothing more frustrating than reading a bit of a thread and wanting to post a reply and then finding the thing is locked. If it's so useless and you just want to kill the thread, just kill it all the way. There are too many different threads up here anyway. We only need about 4 of them anyway, as far as I can tell.

I would prefer that if one or two members get out of hand in a thread, instead of locking it, deal with those members. There are topics I wanted to reply on, but were locked because one or two jerks went off topic at each others' throats. It is not fair to the rest of the members just to lock it right off. It would be better, in my opinion, just to deal with the offending members.

Instead of locking or deleting right away, I did notice that mods are editing posts themselves. Maybe they can just delete/edit the most offensive posts from a thread and lock only those that get so out of hand or off topic that they have no choice. People can always start a new thread with the same topic, but STOP FIGHTING SO THEY STOP LOCKING THEM!! What the hell... we're all adults here!! (Although some have temper tantrums and say things that other adults shouldn't be saying to each other). CUT IT OUT!!

As a rule I prefer to edit or delete individual posts rather than lock the entire topic as it ruins it for the rest of the boards membership.

If PMs are not answered and the problem keeps up, then, it's locked. If you want to continue the discussion, you can post the topic again in a new thread, but if some ignore PMs and warnings, you're asking for it all over again. Why repeat a mistake? What a waste of time. Leave it and go on. There's plenty of topics to discuss here.
