Shock and Awe! What were we thinking?
I'm curious to know just what was running through people on this forums mind as they were seeing the initial air assault on TV.

Mr Con: A lot of Generals bought into the plan and the plan to remove Saddam Hussein was handled flawlessly. It is the aftermath that didn't go well at all.

I was disappointed. I saw passivity. I was also angry at the beginning of the war because I was against it. I guess I'm the opposite of the liberals. I was against it at first and now I'm a sort of supporter. |

I was in a Walmart a couple of days later and heard a guy say to his wife. "Check this out!" "How cool is this?" As they were replaying the initial bombing. I wanted to grab him by the neck and shake him til was unconscious. But, that was not an isolated incident as I came to see in the coming weeks and months. |

Those types make me sick namvet, I may have come unglued.
I cried, I don't thin that I have stopped.
I hike allot, some times with people that I can't get along with. One tome we went to where a bomber crashed in '47, it was a B-17. It was a very reverent and solemn place, as you knew that lives were lost.
Anyway, I was with two others, one of which comment that the troops were volunteers, and if they died it was on their shoulders. Need I go on? |

Sorry but you don't really know politics to say that statement. TRUE conservatives were against this war from the beginning....as I was. I knew that we would be bogged down for decades in that godforsaken part of the world...besides the war being unconstitutional. Don't make the a liberal vs conservative issue because neo-cons are not conservatives. |
