Default Should Prostitution be made Legal Nationwide?

Should it? I mean its everywhere and its legal on the outskirts of Vegas. Just think if it was made legal the Tax revenue it could bring in for the cities and the state as well the federal goverment. Also the heath insurance industry could devise new policies for their providers to write them. Its legal in Denmark and its a main tourist destination for that specific purpose with revenue collections out of this world. Anyway with the available sex dating hookup sites on the internet thats not regulated whats wrong with legalized prostitution? People could get small business loans to start their own business in prostitution and could do probably well. What do ya think?

Hmmm... i'd agree except, legally speaking, none of those websites make payOUTs to people who use them(so there's no one getting paid to get fucked only paying to fuck - that was crass of me, i know, but it makes the point).

If somehow, women and men, individually, wanted to pimp themselves out and legalize it with a business license, etc. I don't actually have a problem with that, either(if they can sell their own kidney, why not rent out their own penis or vagina?), but when pimps, themselves, start abusin' and exploitin' their hos, that's trouble in the making and I'm not ready for it to be like the brothels of Bombay over here in the U.S.

let me ask you this... do you support the exploitation of children who are forced to be prostitutes and live in poor conditions with very little food, beaten on a regular basis, and very little hope for life? Because sex trafficking will ensue if prostitution is made legal (more so than it is now) and with it children who will be exploited beyond all reason. If so, than agree....I however highly disagree because of sex trafficking, despite how good it might or might not be for the economy.

If all Libertarian freedoms and personal responsibilities were adopted....I would be ok with it. The problem with legalizing activities that are self-destructive without expecting personal responsibility is that others ending paying for their destoyed lives.

I think Strife makes a good point. Once you legalize it, you make an avenue for illegal prostitution of other sorts(who's checking IDs? Will the government be able to keep up? We already have illegal underage prostitution in Vegas). In fact, if the courts are constantly coming up against cases of underage minors in porn, what then of prostitution?

... but in the hypothetical situation where you could have someone sell themself without exploitation of themselves or damage to society at large.... uh... ya... sure.

I'm OK with it. I guess if I ever needed money bad enough, there would always be a job for me somewhere!

We already have legalized prostitution. They are called "escort" services. These people tack on "additional personal services" for a huge fee, paid only to them. One of my friends was stuck in one of these services because she had no skills except for being a model, and she was "encouraged" to "further her career" with these "additional personal services" to ensure the service getting repeat business. Lovely.
