Leeroy F. Dermit Who is this person?
Default Bill Clinton's new book: "Giving"

I see that Bill Clinton has written a book called “Giving”.

First let me say that sometimes people prepare for the future but are still overwhelmed by circumstances beyond their control. Sometimes people produce children with no intention of being good parents (maybe because another child means more welfare). In either case, every person I have ever met is willing to help. So if that is your concern. Then giving is a non-issue.

Allow me to extrapolate from the lessons I have gleaned from positive reviews of the book combined with Democrat theory in general.
·If you are only paying taxes, buying the occasional car or computer for poor relatives, and providing 100% of the support for your wife and 3 children, then you are a selfish person who needs to start giving.
·If enough people quit working and volunteered their time to help poor people, then pretty soon, there would be no poor people.
·If the minimum wage were 10 times higher (about $50/hr), then pretty soon, there would be no poor people.
·If everyone gives $100 to two others, and every time someone gives you $100, you give $100 to two others, then pretty soon, there would be no poor people.

Well that can’t be right. It is almost as if giving is foolish, but how can that be?

The Reality of Giving

Giving is irresponsible because it increases poverty. You could have been doing something productive with your time and money. You could have been innovating, creating jobs, educating yourself, or improving your health. You could have been purchasing goods and services from someone who is trying to produce and deliver what you value because his purpose is to earn money for his family.

You are only helping someone if you are doing something that they truly value, and if you are doing something they truly value, then they will pay you. If they have money to pay you, then they have done something helpful for another helpful person. If they have no money to pay you, then they have done little that other people value.

A free market rewards those who are most helpful. If you try to circumvent the market, then you are rewarding those who are least helpful.

Giving makes you an enabler – a codependent. Everyone has the capacity to be more wealthy if they want to. Some people choose to have more leisure time and less responsibility, some people enjoy having a bad attitude and a lack of respect for others. In either case those people have thus chosen to be poor. Therefore, giving those people your time and money is wasteful. If it makes you feel good, then it is also selfish.

The overall wealth in the world is higher if you do your job than if you dig ditches for poor communists in Nicaragua. Yes, I actually I know successful professionals who volunteer to dig ditches to help the poor communists in Nicaragua. Assuming their ditch actually benefits anyone, then they could have paid 100 poor communists to dig ditches with the money they earned doing their job.

The Reality of Bill Clinton

Here is a clue Bill:
·When you spend other people’s money, you are not giving.
·When you spend money you collected by force (e.g. taxes), then you are not giving. You are taking from our children.
·When you increased government spending, you were not giving.
·When you took credit for the economy, you were taking.
·When you took credit for less crime, you were taking.
·If you indeed gave that woman your seed (inside her) without her permission, you were not giving. You were taking.
·When you took tax dollars as your salary, you were receiving.
·When you were getting blow jobs from interns, you were receiving, and by thus exposing yourself to foreign blackmail, you were taking (America’s security).
·When people gave you millions to pay your legal bills to protect you when a woman accused you of sexual harassment, you were receiving.
·When you pardoned 200 convicted felons, you were not giving to their victims, you were receiving (i.e. money for your library, for Hillary’s campaign, etc.).

Bill, maybe you should have written a book called “Receiving”.

I could write similar criticisms of George Bush, but then again, Bush wasn’t pretentious enough to write a book called “Giving”.
