Default Fair Individual Taxes

My idea for a fair personal tax calls for a V.A.T. ( Value Added Tax ) of 18% with only food and housing being exempt, coupled with a single flat income tax. All earned income under $200,000. is tax free, annual income from $200,000. - $5,000,000. would be taxed at a flat 20%, yearly income over $5,000,000. would be refered to as an excess tax, determined at 25%. Personal property taxes would be lowered to 1/2 of 1 percent of the sales price in suburban and rural zones and 3/4 of 1 percent in urban zones, up to 2 homes at this rate, additional homes add an additional 1/2 of 1 percent. Estate taxes remain as is and all energy taxes would be doubled. Legalize the personal use of marijuana and tax it as well as an increase in all alcohol and cigarette taxes, this has the double effect of saving money from incarcerating people as well as taxing their vice and getting help for those in need. Same goes for prostitution, legalize it and tax the hell out of it. It's safer because health checks would be required and instead of wasting $millions, we derive a taxable income off these vices which will never, ever end. That's it, very simple, and you've just cut the IRS by about 90% of their employees. Only 4 ways of Federal individual taxation, V.A.T., a flat income tax of 20%, energy taxes and vice taxes.

Default I like this idea

Instead of arbitrarily drawing a line at something like $90,000 (I forget where it is exactly) and exempting people from paying income tax on everything they make more than that amount, let's try NOT doing that. This seems so completely arbitrary and unfair to me that I cannot even believe it exists. Everybody making enough to live on and not much more is paying out 35% of their fucking income to the Man. But if you are making $200,000, you pay NOTHING on over $100,000 on income?!!!

Every time I think of it I think my head is going to explode. It's absolutely senseless. How about you pay no income tax on anything BELOW $90,000 instead? Fucking asshole self-serving politicians and their rich ass buddies. What complete bullshit. Americans deserve to get screwed if they can't hold their own fucking representatives to represent THE PEOPLE THAT ELECT THEM a little better than that. Because I don't care where you live. Unless it's Malibu and all of your workers are imported, there are a lot more people making less than $90,000 than more in your community. Obviously "representation" is going awry somewhere.

Oh, right, I forgot: only people making more than $90,000 a year actually have the time and money to pay attention to what's going on. Everybody else is out bending over and taking it hard every single day to try to pull the ends together.
