I like hot dogs. Never had a hot cat, but my wife said she did.

It's not even that pretty Creed. My anthropology professor in college was a Native American Studies expert and as a result he spent a lot of time in Peru, Ecuador, and the lot. What he observed on this exact subject was that wild dogs will not get close enough to eat whats left over from a hunt, furthermore primitive cultures use everything. Wild dogs will eat human poo and that' what first gave the dogs incentive to create a relationship.

Now cats, if they were large enough they would kill us all for sure, they cannot be trusted

I saw a tv program on domestication of wolves/dogs and dog intelligence a couple days ago ....some cool things I recall

-Dogs have adapted to recognize human behaviour to develop a symbiotic relationship, something chimps have been unable to do....dogs understand our hand gestures and facial expression particularly our eyes....

-In Russia they did genetic breeding experiments with foxes to study the domestication of wolves, to see if they could duplicate the process....they picked the most docile foxes to breed in successive generations to domesticate and other unexpected results occurred....the foxes ears flopped over, their straight tails curled and a variety of fur colours and patterns appeared, in the end they became dogs....

I doubt domestication occurred because wolves scavenged from human hunts, I've been around wolves and they're very elusive they stay well away from humans they're very difficult to see or approach, coyotes are different they live among us but are still very wary of us...even foxes are easier to approach than wolves I've had wild foxes take food from my hand...I think domestication came about because early humans and kept wolf pups around to fatten up and raise as future meals, eventually they found better uses for them and became pets/clan members.....
