Clinton Machine Swift-boating Obama?
Three separate occurances recently smack of desperation on the part of the Clinton machine. Here they are:

Clinton's NH co-chair quits after Obama comments
by Jill Zuckman
Manchester, N.H. – Sen. Hillary Clinton's New Hampshire co-chairman announced his resignation Thursday, one day after raising questions about Sen. Barack Obama's use of marijuana and cocaine when he was young.
In a statement released by the Clinton campaign, Shaheen said Clinton is running a positive campaign and he does not want to detract from her work on issues important to American families.
"I made a mistake and in light of what happened, I have made the personal decision that I will step down as the Co-Chair of the Hillary for President campaign," he said. "This election is too important and we must all get back to electing the best qualified candidate who has the record of making change happen in this country."

Hillary Clinton Volunteer Resigns Over E-Mail Claiming Barack Obama is Muslim
Wednesday, December 05, 2007
WASHINGTON — A volunteer Iowa county coordinator for Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign has resigned after forwarding a chain e-mail that suggests Barack Obama is a Muslim who wants to destroy the United States by being elected to its highest office.
Obama is a member of the United Church of Christ and has never been a Muslim.
A hoax e-mail that has been widely circulated suggests Obama is some sort of Manchurian candidate for Muslims.
Judy Rose, a Clinton coordinator and
Democratic Party official in Jones County, Iowa, forwarded it without comment to eight people on Nov. 21. Rose referred requests for comment to one of the recipients, Grace Zimmerman, who serves with her on the Jones County Democratic Central Committee.
Zimmerman said Wednesday that Rose sent it to the members of the committee to "show people how dirty politics is" and did not agree with the content of the e-mail.
"Oh heavens no," Zimmerman said in a telephone interview. "She just wanted the people who were concerned with the politics of Jones County to be aware of it."
Zimmerman said the
Clinton campaign never talked to Rose about why she sent it but simply demanded her resignation after another one of the recipients decried the e-mail in a post on the liberal blog Daily Kos.

Clinton advisor quits over drug comment
An advisor to Clinton resigned Thursday over his comments on Obama.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — A top advisor to Hillary Clinton has resigned his position with her campaign after suggesting rival Barack Obama's admission of drug use could hinder his chances of winning a general election matchup.
Bill Shaheen, a co-chairman of Clinton's New Hampshire campaign, said in an issued statement, "I made a mistake and in light of what happened, I have made the personal decision that I will step down as the co-chair of the Hillary for President campaign."
"This election is too important and we must all get back to electing the best qualified candidate who has the record of making change happen in this country," he added. "That candidate is Hillary Clinton.”
Reacting to the news, Obama's chief campaign strategist David Axelrod told CNN's Jessica Yellin he thinks it was a "good decision."
"I think what he did was beyond the pale," Axelrod said. "He injected something into the campaign that didn't belong. We didn't ask for him to resign. I think it was a good idea. Hopefully it will send a signal you can't do these kinds of things."
"We believe the American people can sort out these issues and we weren't lying awake at nights worrying what Bill Shaheen said," Axelrod continued. "Maybe the Clinton campaign was."

Con:
Do you democrats really want this type of candidate in office? You complain of secrecy and attacks from republicans...and yet the Clinton's are calculating, cold, attacking, and negative.
Obama has run a positive, hope-filled campaign rising above the "Politics of personal destruction" that Hillary says she is against...yet obviously has orchestrated or tolerated.
"Obama accused Clinton of “'swift boat’ politics” and vowed he will not be intimidated."
"Obama called on Clinton to renounce the report or disclose the information, and twisted the knife by adding: “She of all people, having complained so often about ‘the politics of personal destruction,’ should move quickly to either stand by or renounce these tactics.”"
