That is why I think it's impossible to support our troops and not the war.
However, I do believe it's possible for you to disagree with the war but support it at the same time. An individual can disagree with the war and protest if they want. The individual has a right to do that in this country and is free to do so. The individual can still disagree with the war while still supporting it.
An individual has three choices : a) Agree with the war and support the war (which would then support our troops). B) Disagree with the war and support the war (which would then support our troops). C) Disagree with the war and not support it (which would then NOT support our troops).

Welcome to PH, first of all.
We've been over this more than once, but that's okay. It kind of evolves the further into the quagmire we go.
I've yet to hear anyone give a precise definition to "support the troops." If it means "support" like you might say, "I support Manchester United," then who really cares about whether you go in for that sort of rah-rah stuff or not.
And what is involved, exactly, in supporting a mission?
Ultimately, I always feel like this question, when asked by a hawk, is intended to pass judgment on the respondents as to their moral character. It's like hawks WANT to see troop spitting. They can't wait for it. In fact, you get the feeling they might go out and pay somebody to do it, just so they can say, "I told you so."
The truth? It's probably more a matter of apathy, but that's BOTH sides of the debate...on any given day, I don't believe hawks think about the troops anymore than doves.
SO...we should end it an everyone will be happy.
