No, merit isn't in the liberal dictionary....that's why liberal's favor the deeply flawed and possibly racist Affirmative Action program.
Where black people solely because of the color of their skin have to be given things, as opposed to having to earn those things solely based on merit.

It is an elitist statement. Enforcing such things would eliminate the Bourgeoisie.

For the tenth time, Im a registered republican. The difference between myself and you is I posses the ability to think for myself.
Ill play along with you though. Merit is in my dictionary, unfortunately that is not the only issue. How does someone get across town, or to the next town, or several towns away to jump ship to a better school if they dont have transportation? Can I assume you were lucky enough to have your mommy not have to work so she would have driven you 45 minutes to school every morning and left the country club early to go and pick you up a few hours later? What would have been the case if your parents both worked during these hours? What if they relied on public transportation? What if only your mom raised you? And if you have a few kids of diofferent age that are in 2 or 3 different schools (Like middle, elementary, and high school).
You do realize most people dont have a stay at home mom and an extra car in the driveway. What about rural schools, where there are 75 miles between schools? Then what?
What is so hard about addressing the problem, instead of giving the lucky ones a free pass? I will guess you were one of the lucky ones.
In a perfect world, yes merit is the only factor, but this is the real world, if you have ever been exposed to it.

Well in essence you are saying education is only for those who can afford it. Elitism.

That's not elitism.
How is that elitism?
