Leftist cause high gas prices.

Let’s take a look at “why” gas prices are what they are today. While the truth is that the $100 a barrel prices we see for oil now are mostly being caused by an ever increasing world demand and the violence in the middle east, let’s examine how we got into the severe reliance we have on foreign oil.

Let’s consider “who” were the major culprits in lobbying our government to reject new domestic drilling for oil. “Who” was it that lobbied our government to place prohibitions on new nuclear power plants, and new clean coal burning plants? “Who” lobbied state governments to prohibit new refining of oil capacity?

Of course it was, has been, and is the far left. In effect, they managed to put smaller domestic wildcat oil companies out of business. They’ve managed to force our reliance for electric power on oil, and foreign oil at that. They in effect have managed to make Exxon Mobil into a profiteering giant. They nearly eliminated their competition from alternative energy supplies for the BIG oil boys, and now they’re the first to complain about high gas prices.

Ain’t leftism grand?

I disagree. If the government can fool the nation into attacking a soveriegn nation for oil, they can certainly smack a few hippies aside and drill in Alaska or the Gulf Coast.

Listen up, Mr. Wizard, high gas prices are caused from a devalued dollar. Get a clue. Why is the dollar devalued? Tax cuts to billionaires, crony capitalism, war, borrowing and insane trade policy. ALL conservative "values".

The rightests are against higher fuel efficiency. They always stop bills that require better fuel standards. They make it more difficult for coops to produce ethonal. They took away the tax break for solar panels. Geeez the more I think about it the more it seems the right is working against Americans and for the oil companies. What a bunch of traders.

Oh one more thing, take a look at how much MORE Europeans are paying for gas than 5 years ago.

That's right, O'ingenious One. The price of fuel hasn't SPIKED like it has in the U.S.

That's because THEIR currency hasn't been destroyed. Ironically, in the UK they ARE having inflation due to rising interest rates, etc.

You forgot Australia too, good ole John Howard - he's gone now though. Price of petrol has skyrocketed in the past few weeks. I thought we had the stock market to thank for that, but we can blame it on intrest rates and a war for profit instead.

What's the point in politics if you can't fight over it?
