Default McCain's Speech

holy crap did anyone watch this train wreck?? seriously, at this point, i don't care who's president, i just can't take another four years of having an illiterate president that bumbles over his words and reads straight from teleprompters. or in mccains case pieces of paper.

i mean i haven't seen an example of public speaking that bad since we had to read book reports to the class in the 3rd grade.

my only guess is that for some reason, he never thought in a million years he was going to win NH, and so while the speech was written, he never practiced it. although really, the speech itself was pretty poorly written as well.

ugh, what a mess.

Agreed about his speech. John Mcain is a true war hero but why he hitched his star to Bush's (Family) war is beyond me. He is honorable & dead wrong.

War is a game that is played with a smile. If you can't smile, grin. If you can't grin, keep out of the way till you can.

What is this fixation on language and speeches? This sort of rhetoric, to make fun of Bush's speech, is constructive only to the Republicans who must have round after round of applause when it happens. This way, they can blame the liberals for making fun of the ordinary folks, which Bush is perceived to be part of. Expose his policies, not his language, which is benign compared to the atrocious policies set in place by him and his staff.

if anyone plans on saying the way he speak doesn't matter, the president is the nations icon for the world and if you have some guy who stumbles and can't have a speech it makes the united states look bad.

Interesting, seeing as how Paul speaks intelligently and has been on the same track for years. He's not your regular "how can I kiss your ass?" candidate who goes whichever the wind blows.

Everything I post is my opinion! So !

Not a Liberal, not a Conservative, not a Democrat, not a Republican........just a realist with an opened mind.

That's how I feel about Rudy Guiliani. Dude can't speak clearly to save his life; he's always talking so fast, two or more words come out at the same time....along with saliva and snarkiness.

I agree that it looks bad since the president is also a symbol. However, in the discussion of Bush, it's much productive to discuss his dangerous and hawkish policies abroad and horrible policies at home than making fun of his speech. In fact, the Republican planners are delighted when comedians and news discuss his speaking, because that way they won't have time discussing his policies.

That's because Ron Paul is not running for president, but is there to push an agenda and get a national recognition. He doesn't need to care about the polls.

Exactly. Ron Paul is/was the worst public speaker.
