Thank you very Mach.
Its like this site was reading my mind. I dont think I have ever read anything that matched so closely my observations on life.

It is not the contingent of life, feeding that is. It cannot be! Because you can do nothing but eat all your life, but can you do anything else and not eat? you are what you do the most. Existence is the very reason for life, should there be any other reason, we'd not exist.
The food chain is the brutal truth - for all of us. Eat or be eaten. How clearer can nature get? Of course, you have activities that give your life some other corners to work on, but the genuine purpose is still to sustain. On the whole, how purposeful is a pride of lions, or a pack of wolves? Compare that with a group of human beings, you should understand.

An automobile needs gas to run, however, the purpose of an automobile is not to consume gasoline. A person needs food to exist but the purpose of existence is not to eat.
Meaning is not derived from a cream filled donut. Now, maybe giving the last cream filled donut to someone else, when you love cream filled donuts... maybe that has meaning.
Existence is not "meaning", existence merely is; eating is necessary to existence but gives the existence no meaning.
Meaning (or purpose) can only be derived from an action which has greater significance than mere survival.

Re: The Meaning of Life
The meaning of life summed up in one word is love.
Is it why we are here? I don't know, I doubt it. But it certainly takes mainstay in my life and am answering from my position on life.
Life is about love or the lack of love, but ultimately love.

The Meaning of Life?
SELF!
Perception is Key! If you don't believe that perception is reality, then, that is your own personal perception of my reality......... or, at least that's what I perceive.
"Analyze any human emotion, no matter how far it may be removed from the sphere of sex, and you are sure to discover somewhere the primal impulse, to which life owes its perpetuation. ... The primitive stages can always be re-established; the primitive mind is, in the fullest meaning of the word, imperishable. ... Mans most disagreeable habits and idiosyncrasies, his deceit, his cowardice, his lack of reverence, are engendered by his incomplete adjustment to a complicated civilization. It is the result of the conflict between our instincts and our culture."
- Sigmund Freud
Lots of other Perceptions...........

Your Penn and Teller explanation of love is lacking any validity. Its a stupid television show.. though entertaining.
Love transcends sex even though it is sometimes included in the act.
Love is more than sex and if sex is the first conclusion you witnessed when seeing the word love, you either need to get out more or stay home more often.
Unconditional love exists and is really the only thing people find important deep in the roots of their primal 'self.' That and hate, which is the lack of love. Both are the driving force for any world's desires and it does so in a struggle for energy, which is the basic building blocks of every single thing that exists.

Re: The Meaning of Life
Since I believe that love is the meaning of life one must define love:
What is love?
Baby don't hurt me.
Don't hurt me.
No moe.

Re: The Meaning of Life
All I can say is......... you "Love" for self. Do you really think that Love is unconditional (Love Blinds!)... up to what point is it "unconditional?" Think in your brain and ask yourself......... how bad would it have to get before I drew the line?
Let me try to put it this way. When you "help" someone, why are you doing that? You did it for self, they may have benefited, but, you did it to "feel good about yourself", or, because it benefited you in some other way shape and/or form, now, or in the future.
You Love someone sooo much... why? To help/comfort yourself, you love for you, you use them for your own good (self).
Don't take any of this in an evil way, everyone has it and it can be "good", or it can be "evil", but sometimes it's just neutral too..... it is how you use your "Self".... think of it as a survival instinct that assures you will pro-create, 99% of the time, it (love) will wear off with time.
Watch Looney Tune Cartoons, they are great lessons of life!
As far as videos and other information, it's not........ do I agree with them? It's....... do they agree with me? If "they" agree with me, then, they're good.
And last but not least, you may think that I am a very self-centered, greedy person, but, if that was the case I wouldn't be so open with "self", I would hide it,manipulate it and pretend I was for everyone but myself... oh, wait a second, I just...............
"No one will see your honest statement as completely objective and free of some personal motivation and they will be right: In truth, the use of honesty is indeed a power strategy, intended to convince people of one's noble, good-hearted selfless character. It is a subtle form of coercion."

You are equating combustion of natural fuels for mere mobility to the birth of intelligence, I might point out that to compare mobility to organic intelligence is really (sorry for the bluntness) the worst comparative argument I have ever heard.
This vanity is rather hysterical we human beings derive from our existence. Funny, why don't the animals consider there to be much more to life than mere eat or be eaten. How different are we? Technically, human beings can *never* truly be out of this natural food chain. I have already given you the rudimentary pieces of information, all you have to do is analyse it right.
You mean something because you exist - that is your meaning, just because you claim that there is much more to a mere 4-limbed monkey which walks upright, just one in the billions, well, it's a good perspective, but in the large picture, we are deluding ourselves. The central reason to life is sustenance - it's in fact, the most fundamental of philosophies.
