Default To boost economy, Americans want out of Iraq

WASHINGTON - The heck with Congress’ big stimulus bill. The way to get the country out of recession — and most people think we’re in one — is to get the country out of Iraq, according to an Associated Press-Ipsos poll.Pulling out of the war ranked first among proposed remedies in the survey, followed by spending more on domestic programs, cutting taxes and, at the bottom end, giving rebates to poor people in hopes they’ll spend the economy into recovery.

Poll: Leaving Iraq would boost economy - Stocks & economy - MSNBC.com

But it won't happen. That would put a burden on the NeoCon's profits.

So we win the war and go broke. Smart strategy.

Are you offended by the phrase “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not?

We need to make money from the Iraq oil to pay for the war. Why isn't that happening?

Uh...didn't Exxon-Mobil pull off a fairly profitable year? Or am I missing something?

Don't you guys ever get tired of this crap? Thread after thread after thread? Pointless. Mindless. Worthless. If we can't focus ourselves and control our venom long enough to discuss the issue at hand, why participate at all?

Ahem.

I know this is probably not going to fly well with some, but my inner sense is that we are not going to extricate ourselves from Iraq as neatly as we inserted ourselves there. We may not be there 100 years, but we're going to be there far longer than any of the pull-out candidates are suggesting. And no, it won't be healthy for our economy or our political health.

In fact, I'd go so far as to predict Iraq will be a defining issue in 2012. I hope to heaven I'm wrong, but I don't see how just pulling troops back will work when that's all that keeps anything like a lid on anarchy in a strategically essential area.
