This story is not surprising at all, it was just a matter of time for him to self-destruct. Totally his nature given his unbridled greed/ambition at getting the governorship. Anyone who would arrest his own mother to get his picture in the paper to become governor is just aching to fall.

I so wish he would say the following:

Yes I have paid for sex. I do not intend to put my head on the block. I have rights. I will use a lawyer like anyone who is charged or might be charged with an offense should. I also want to comment on those stating this must be humiliating for my wife. My wife hasn't used any hooker. My wife is married to a man who has violated rules of social conduct and social conduct regulating law. It is erroneous to expect somebody to feel guilt and shame if they are married to someone who isn't perfect.

I do my job as a govenour well. I realize that the trust in me will decrease as a result of this affair. However, I still want to do my job. If people want to focus on my personal life and flaws, let them do so.

It would seem to me that Spitzer is in the middle of this ring of hoes. I also can provide that this bust stemmed from illegal domestic telephone surveillance, making it a big issue and possibly a precedent setting case that would further give the green light to tap anyone anytime without a warrant.

You're absolutely right and the fact he was AG makes this even more hypocritical. My feeling is he'll be out by the end of the week. If nothing else, his staying in will have a negative impact on the Democrats in the election. We can't look like if we get the White House we'll let our guys break the rules after screaming for eight years about the other side doing it. That shit doesn't flush.

Integrity matters. Hypocrisy matters.

And $5,500 per hour for sex is just too damn much, IMO.

You have no evidence of that at all, it stemmed from the bank alerting the IRS to suspscious activity.
