I was thinking it had to do with unconditional love that I have for my 2 sons, where not only their life is more important but their future as well. My time has come and gone so to speak, but they have a chance.

I realize my answer of my own question had nothing to do with genetics, I suppose, but then again I don't know much about that field of science. However I still dare Xeno to answer. Otherwise I beat you.

You've answered your own question then. In your case foregone direct genetic revenues is not an objection.

Socio-biology and selection is a fact of life and death not a political option

Tradition is a heuristic with known efficacy and known costs. The expected revenues from trailblazing vs. expected costs differ for people based on circumstances.

to prove dominance in the pack/tribe/community/etc so that we are more respected/have more power in the pack/tribe/community/etc and that we prove dominance over sub-beings. This makes us good choices for a mate-extending the human race.

that was easy, next!

ok!

We feel hesitant to act in some way because subsonciously (i know i misspelled that but am too lazy to find correct spelling, sorry) we know that should we act in the wrong way, a higher class/clitch/etc would shun us for being arrogant/etc and thus we shall have less respect from the pack/tribe.

OR....

We realize the person with that dissability is slowing the tribe down in some way (not providing food/not building shelter/not providing security/etc) and therefor we need to seperate them from society to make sue they dont get in the way.

now this is probably the only thing I had in mind when making this thread. I prayed you wouldn't ask, but a bets a bet so il take a stab.

ok!

In our genetic memory we hold rythmns of ancient african drums. These were for communication/etc but now are for enjoyment. I'll take a long shot guess that there is something like an subconsious message with these rythmns in our brains....But other species enjoy music also. our dogs get exited when we play it for example. So something is going on!...I just dont know how it relates to continuing the species...

now if you excuse me ill go kick myself

Music and Genetics

The musical score within a cancer-causing oncogene sounds somber, while the gene that bestows transparency to the lens of the eye is filled with trills and flourishes-- airy and light, he said.

Reversing the process -- converting music to chemistry -- works as well: When Ohno translated a funeral march by chopin from notes to chemical equations, entire passages appeared identical to a cancer gene found in humans, he said.

well, you have sired children or at least a child(I AM guessing you are the blood father not foster) therefor your purpose in life is almost completed. All you must do if make sure that your offspring survives enough to reproduce, continueing the species...

thanks for the easy one
