Pappy Goldwater was a Master Seargent in charge of a Howitzer unit in Korea. What he learned about night fighting in the Pacific in WWII got him an invitation to South Korea. He won't elaborate any further.
That war was very clearly started by the North Koreans supported by the Chinese in an effort to unify the Korean Penninsula and as a result under communism if successful. But they had no idea that the United States intel community stationed in Japan would take exception, then ruffle the feathers of the UN....creating one UN Police Action that ended in stalemate.
