Pappy Goldwater was a Master Seargent in charge of a Howitzer unit in Korea. What he learned about night fighting in the Pacific in WWII got him an invitation to South Korea. He won't elaborate any further.

That war was very clearly started by the North Koreans supported by the Chinese in an effort to unify the Korean Penninsula and as a result under communism if successful. But they had no idea that the United States intel community stationed in Japan would take exception, then ruffle the feathers of the UN....creating one UN Police Action that ended in stalemate.

No. Firstly, Communism and democracy aren't concepts of those territories. The biggest problems arose when the Cold War took place in Korea. What they hell were they thinking when they introduced different political doctrines further dividing the continent? Did they do so in the interest of the Koreans or themselves?

The North Koreans attacked primarily because they got support and endorsement from the Soviet Union. And after that, China gets in the way with the People's Volunteers (the reason for the UN security council seat) and protects any efforts for unifying the continent.

Most of the current nonsense is a result of old cynical attempts at politics by our senior leaders.

F-86 won by a margin of at least 4-1 kill ratio.

Just fyi the Mig 17 was not available in sufficent quantities to participate in the Koren War. If it had, the Sabre would have been in big trouble. See link: MiG-17 FRESCO - Russia / Soviet Nuclear Forces
