To give one example terrorists have been caught crossing the Canadian border but not the Mexican border, so which border are we seeing more of our taxes being spent on in response to 9/11?

No terrorist has ever entered the US from Canada. It was an error by the Boston Globe after 9-11 that got picked up by news sources all over the US and even though it was hogwash the memory remains in the minds of many Americans. It's not the fault of people who heard it from otherwise relaible news sources - but it did never happen.

"It's something that won't go away," Bill Graham, Canada's defense minister, said of the apocryphal claim in an interview Monday. "We're very resentful . . . because not one suspect had been in Canada. All had been in the U.S., training in the U.S., with valid U.S. visas."</NITF>

Canada Fights Myth It Was 9/11 Conduit (washingtonpost.com)
There was the one attempt of the Algerian guy going from BC to Seattle to blow up the Space Needle... but he was a lone nut, was stopped and arrested at the border by US officials. As one would expect.
Just clearing it up... carry on.
