Default Fess up, how much do you drain off the state?

Alright, be honest. Since there are constant references to 'liberalism' and 'lazy unemployed parasites" in the same breath around here - I wanted to do a quick comparison.

I tend to vote Liberal or Green (will probably vote Conservative this time but can fairly but can fairly be called a liberal in relation to this crowd we have here).

Think good and hard - how much of a state-sucking parasite are you?

I went to public (government) schools at no extra cost for 13 years.

I have had two surgeries and decades of doctor's visits under public health care.

I get 200 dollars a month from various governments because I have a child. I have no idea why - this was introduced by the federal Conservatives and I neither expected it nor voted for them, but I cash the checks alright.

I received education grants in university. Probably a few thousand dollars worth.

I have never received welfare, unemplyment, disability, pension, social assistance or other financial support of any kind. I have paid into these programs since the first day I got a paper route - and have never had a period of unemplyment beyond over 2 weeks since that day and have paid my taxes honestly and on time.

I used government respources such as websites and Provincial employment centres when I was young to find part-time work.

My church gets tax rebates.

I watch and listen to heavily government funded TV and radio.

So as far as I'm concerned I'm in a left-leaning Province of a Social Democracy and the only ones out of here that strike me as odd are the auto-insurance (which is madness) and the baby money (which is beaurocracy and vote-buying run wild) and the truly awful TV and radio shows which all seem to be about hockey, nature, WW2 or cheap "A part of our heritage" history lessons.

Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
