I just wanted to add, I don't think I would characterize people as stupid for remaining skeptic towards vaccines and medication. Pharmaceutical companies are repeatedly withholding information about adverse effects, hoping that they can make enough dough before the shit hits the fan, just think about the vioxx scandal, and how increased suicide risk in a small subset of patients taking common antidepressants was shrouded for a looong time until it finally hit the news. Scary stuff. I can't honestly say that there are people you can always trust, and whose information you should always stick to.

But having said that, I would still take meds if I couldn't solve mood problems with some sort of psychotherapy, and if I had a kid, I would still give him shots, knowing that immunization works best when you are young, and comparing the known risks.
