The article describes many ways to reproduce the effect. For starters, look at the video again; there is no table cloth. It's a smooth table surface. You don't know what's under the table. Could be a heating element. Or, it might be a cleverly edited video. Those who posted the video remain anonymous.

So I guess that cloth covering the table isn't draping over the edges, OK.
