Following Australia's similar settlement a few months ago, Canada has reached a huge settlement with reps for families torn apart and children seized and abused in residential schools.

I'm of two minds about this. I don't think kidnapping and murder (50% died of TB? WHat the hell?) should go unpunished, but I also don;t see where the money comes in.

If I kill your family I get arrested and go to jail. I don't owe the survivors money.

It was a crime and the victims are still among us and that means I don't mind them persuing justice. I just don't know when justice beacme a dollar figure




I also like the part where they calculate US dollars into Canadian dollars. (C1.9billion, or 1.9 billion US). Thatnks for helping with the 1 for 1 ratio guys
