You're also not holding a toaster up against your body, like a cell phone, a TENS unit, or an electric blanket.

You just argue with me for the sake of arguing don't you? Your post makes no sense.

Confronting you with "sense" hasn't proven very productive in other threads. But hey; I'm game to try again.

Here, Michaelr, is some sense:

Microwaves are a form of non-ionizing radiation, much like radio-frequency radiation, and visible light. By contrast, x-rays and gamma rays are forms of ionizing radiation.

The damage potential of non-ionizing radiation is limited to heat. That's why we can safely cook with microwave ovens, but not x-rays. That's also why the non-ionizing visible spectrum of sunlight is of little concern to sunbathers, but the ionizing effects of ultraviolet wavelengths have the potential to cause skin cancer. Ionizing radiation consists of frequencies that have the potential to damage DNA.

Heat lamps operate in the visible and infrared wavelengths. They keep food warm. Tanning booths operate in the ultraviolet wavelengths. They have the potential to cause skin cancer.

Therefore, it is theoretically possible for non-ionizing microwaves to literally cook one's brain, but the damage would be limited to elevated temperatures, making cancerous tumors a highly unlikely side effect.

What are you trying to prove, I operate ham radios in the microwave range.

Your telling me nothing new.

Connect the dots:

Microwaves are non-ionizing. They are capable of heating organic matter, but not much else.

Cell phones emit small amounts of microwave radiation.

Therefore, microwave radiation from cell phone do not cause cancerous brain tumors.

Well gee wiz genius tell it to the scientist that say different. Do you have any idea why organic matter warms up, I do and it ain't good. Now that you have successfully hijacked this thread, tell my old wise one, how come so many reports refute your claims?

Microwaves heat organic matter by generating energy waves at roughly 2.5Ghz, which is converted to heat by structures of water, fats, and sugars.

The wavelength of microwaves is about 12.5cm, which is why the fine metal mesh in the microwave window is more than adequate for preventing radiation from escaping. This

Once you exclude anonymous studies, such as those you cited, there really aren't that many reports refusing my "claims."

Your telling me nothing, of course it heats duh. My question to you is how?

I will tell you and save us both some time. I moves atomic sized particles and creates friction. Umm good for the gray matter hey?

Ouch!!!!!

I can definitely empathize with you, Michael. I've had four lumbar lamenectomies. With the fourth, they should have fused the vertebrae; but they couldn't, because the arthritis was/is too bad in that area.

Good luck!
