IMF: US economy is set to 'stagnate'

Let splain somepan hea, The dollar has lost about 60% of its value since 2000, the stock market as of yesterday is real close to that of 2000. Now here is the tricky part and what most juhust refuse to understand. Lets just give 10,000 for a number, lets say that the market is at 10,000 now and in 2000, that would be equal to the market points at 4000 . See the loss??

And actually a modest improvement over previous forecast and no mention of recession.

Stagnant no real growth, and Obama will pass a massive tax increase which will send it into the toliet.

I could agree to a point if the dollar value was not an issue, problem is stagnation with a declining dollar is not stagnation at all. Were going backward here.

And Obama wants to raise taxes on investments and corporations, HUGE tax increases.

Yes, if things go the next 8 like the last 8 I will be very satisfied.enjoyed it thoroughly. I can attribute that directly to Bush tax cuts and i am by no means rich and if you go by MichaelR definition of upper middle class I am at the poverty level.

The question is when will the stock of unsold construction get dumped at 5-10% of peak prices? That should put 30-40% of existing housing stock seriously upside down. Buying when there is blood in the street is highly profitable but how much blood? There are all sorts of bull traps that may intervene so I have no idea how low prices may go.
