It's more of a defense mechanism and pure economics. If Iran and Russia (both are trading oil in euros) turn away from the dollar and take other currencies for their oil trade than they become economically independent from the US.

That is what Saddam did in the fall of 2000 when he switched from US dollars to euros. He became more independent from the US and made more money than he would've made if he was trading in dollars. Still wondering why USA went into Iraq?

In 2005 Iran announced it's plans to turn away from the dollar and start their own oil bourse that would compete with London, New York and Texas based bourses, by the way the only oil bourses in the world. Around half a year ago Russia announced it too will start it's own oil bourse that would be denominated in euros.

The US dollar has been heavily hit by Iranian oil. This is one of the main reasons why dollar is weak these days. Dollar is no longer the sole currency being used to trade in oil, so after loosing the monopoly his value is naturally dwindling. Funny thing is that because most of oil is traded in dollars, weakening dollar results in high oil prices.

America has two short term recovery options. It can bully Iran into submitting to it's demands (which Iran has shown no interest in doing) or it can ask other countries to buy huge amounts of US dollars. Why do you think Bush was in Europe?

I am going to educate you on how your fucked up government works GM. What you know is a lie, a lie propagated by your favorite clown in office. This is not a personal statement, some people clown may be bush, some Obama, for some it is whomever. It does not matter because they are all going to lie, their lies will distract you from the truth, you(whom ever) will believe the lie because, hey, it's your favorite clown.
