However, when I said "rich" parents, I meant parents that will pay for their children's education. Those rich children will have an easier job getting into college then a poor person (or someone who doesn't recieve any money from their parents).

They are not necessarily on equal footing. Just because your parents don't give you a 'dime' does not necessarily mean you're on equal footing with someone who is less fortunate. There are other factors such as the community you grew up in (wealthy vs. non-wealthy) that are able to better fund and take part in their public education systems. With better public schools comes better chances for scholarships due to the quality of academic/athletic programs.
Furthermore, those parents who earn that '500,000k' living are more apt to indoctrinate sufficient investment skills as well as knowledge that an otherwise less fortunate person may not be able to obtain.
