Default What are some local policies that you want changed?

I guess this would have more relevance to America, with people complaining that the federal government should have less power so I am wondering what people think should change in their own local politics.

It may also be interesting to hear what types of issues are important in local communitties that are far away from each other and have diverse issues.

I love my town of Hoboken, NJ and everything but this one walkway with stairs always smells like piss... and I would really like if that, and other places in the town would be cleaned up.

I also support more money for the public schools... of course, especially if it increased the pay for the teachers.

Hopefully someone else has some more interesting local issues to share...

and mininum wage upheld I just quit from a busboy job after a week that payed me $4 an hr, even if it was that plus tips... (that one I don't really care about)

Well the yellow light cameras can go. Our liquor stores are state controlled, that should change. Our police grid is partially funded by the feds and it is getting creepy, go. Our schools are more worried about the WASL than an education, go. Our property taxes increased with property values, now it is time to reduce them...ain't going to happen, some clown needs to be fired. Need an ambulance, pay for it, well what the hell are we paying taxes for? I could think of more.

Red light cameras can go.

Seat belt laws can go.

helmet laws can go

having to stop in the middle of the street with the right of way for a fucking pedestrian in the crosswalk.

smoking bans. How rediculous to make someone go outside of a bar to smoke a cigarette. and how can the government tell a private business what legal activity it can allow in it's establishment!!

I could go on and on....

NO ONE will stone ANYONE until I blow this whistle. Even, and I want to make this perfectly clear, even if they DO say Jehovah!!!

lol you kidding me? Murder is still illegal regardless of what the other person has done... (normally) Pedestrians normally have the right now way, even if you got to the crosswalk first. I am learning how to drive, so I need to remember that...

yeah, those laws are nosy for a privately owned piece of property. But I still support them
