Actually, yes I have. I was quite poor for most of my childhood, so shut the fuck up and stop making assumptions about people you've never met.

Zara, I am disappointed that you should have taken a leaf out of Libre's soiled and tattered book. Tiercel posed an rhetorical question using customary and appropriate language. I think your response was uncalled for.
"Shut the fuck up ..." is not an appropriate response to another teen, let alone an adult who could (but very likely isn't ) old enough to be your mother/father. I hope you will apologise privately.

I don't think liberals and neocons should be classified as adults since they haven't outgrown silly childhood beliefs.

Re: Canada's healthcare system in crisis
As far as the alleged superiority of the US health care system over the universal healthcare systems operating in Europe, Australia and Canada is concerned; I am sure that we all have a preference for that with which we are familiar, so the facts in each case will be viewed from a slightly different vantage point.
There are no doubt advantages on the individual level in not having to subsidise the health of strangers, and whether this appeals or not depends very much upon your value system. The same applies to a level of what some call 'socialism' in other areas of social justice.
To me, the most significant facts remain that there are 47 million Americans without health insurance.
47 Million Americans Without Health Insurance, Census Report
And that the World Health Organisation ranks the US health care system 37th in the world (after Costa Rica).
The World Health Organization's ranking of the world's health systems
The system ranked as first is that of France, an allegedly 'socialist' universal health care system.
And that M'Lud, concludes the case for the prosecution.

For the 50th time (so you and all the other socialists can ignore it for the 50th time) if the U.S.A. did not exist for all of those other countries to leech off of, their ponzi schemes would have failed long ago. But it's ok, you will soon get to learn that lesson first hand.

You have claimed this before with as little evidence - if this is so overwhelmingly true please show me the evidence

Beyond a call for evidence or examples, could you even just explain what that is supposed to mean?
In all honestly, the first 49 times I never for a second actually thought you seriously were saying that. You think you pay for France's health care?
If you mean the US spends money on other countries and then doesn't have enough to offer its own taxpayers any better than the 37th best health care... then are you really arguing that that's a good thing and should stay that way? By all means - stop spending the money on Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and start spending it on Americans. That's the idea.

I take it to mean he believes that the US 'protects' the rest of the world with its military, thereby obviating the need for any other nation to maintain a defence force. This altruism saves us lesser mortals loads of money which we spend on self-indulgent things like universal health care and other social justice programmes.
I have a cousin who is six, and he believes he has a friend who lives in the wardrobe in his room, with whom he has conversations at bedtime.
Neither fanciful belief does us any real harm, so who am I to shatter their illusions?

Why must you try to make light of the fact that Australia, England, and America have a better vision for people worldwide than anyone who has ever come before them?
Is living in peace with your neighbor that hard to do? Is accepting other folk's differnces that impossible? In the end, that is all that our nations have tried to accomplish. I guess that maybe you are right...this is all just a fairy tale.

Vote for MDMX96 for Congress...sometime in the 2010, 2012 time frame. It doesn't matter what state he is running in, he just wants to make America great again.

So, are you supporting Libre's contention that the USA supports the health care in the rest of the world??

Nope. I am saying that America's, and England's and Australia's efforts have made it that much easier for many nations to pursue national heath care.
