So... Your entire argument hinges on the fact that they used the word " many" in the above quote? That's rather precarious. On the one hand, it could mean, as you suggest, that some of them are not "volunteers at sports and social clubs." It could also mean that some are not "volunteers at sports and social clubs," but rather they are salaried daycare employees. Or schoolteachers. Or camp counselors.

Look this is basically a license to have children. If your not approved by this pack of thugs then forget it. See it for what the fuck it is.

No it's not. It's a license to hold a paid or volunteer job that entails contact with children. Just because you call it something else doesn't make it so.

You like telling someone after they have been shot that they were shot, you would deny it crawl off some place and die.
Read this... any adult who come into contact with children or vulnerable adults either through their work or in voluntary groups to be vetted.
Thats a parent, get it. Now you need permission to be around you child, a permit, get it...an actual card. Understand?

Oh, you're reading it wrong. That's an honest mistake. Here, let me break it down. The law applies to:
- Any adult who comes into contact with children either through their work or in voluntary groups.
- Any adult who comes into contact with vulnerable adults either through their work or in voluntary groups.
I can see why you'd be upset, but the fact is that you read it incorrectly. The " through their work etc..." is a thread common to all those vetted.

It is every adult that come into contact with children, see I will not add words, you do that however.
Here is the second part of the sentence... vulnerable adults either through their work or in voluntary groups to be vetted.
Now between the two parts of the sentence there is a word, can you spot it? it has two letters, one is o and the other is r. Ok now?
Now just for you I will put the sentence together...
any adult who come into contact with children or vulnerable adults either through their work or in voluntary groups to be vetted.

I'm not "adding words." You are reading it wrong:
any adult who comes into contact with children or vulnerable adults either through their work or in voluntary groups
In other words, if, through your work or volunteer positions, you come into contact with children or vulnerable adults, then you can expect to be vetted.
If you parse the sentence your way, then the whole "or vulnerable adults" qualifier makes absolutely no sense in context. I'm not kidding. You try breaking down the sentence, and explain how it applies to "vulnerable adults."

Re: A quarter of adults to face 'anti-paedophile' tests
A strange but I think relevant citation. John Thaw's last series "Kavanaugh QC" came out on DVD and I bought the first season. I found the representation of British family life in the series a bit out there and my wife thought it disgusting. This is from before the turn of the century (Thaw died in 2002 and four seasons were claimed for the series) and being a courtroom mystery series a fair amount of British family law is mentioned in passing. I can't say for sure but I got the impression that Djinn's interpretation of the current British law was pretty much in place 10 years ago and it certainly is here in FL.

Well ya, everyone in the country that works with children has background checks. This law has nothing to do with that, it is an act against the family, plain and simple.
