"Organizations" with minimal credibility, no research, and sometimes questionable ties. I'll stick with the scientists thank you.

You don't understand what "sticking to the topic even means." Only when it suits you that is.

Sorry, try again. Tell us the problems you see with the two author's articles and the claims they made about global warming "research" not following scientific protocol.

Tick tock, tick tock.

In other words:

Keep posting in this thread, you are an excellent example I couldn't have scripted better myself to illustrate the point.

Nice straw man but that's not the problem. The problem is our economy is already teetering on the brink of destruction and this issue is being used by both sides of the aisle in an attempt to suck nearly a $1,000,000,000,000 that we don't have out of it. It's also being used to destroy our sovereignty and to illegally put power over the American taxpayer into the hand of unelected world government officials.

That's reality son, try and deal with it for a change.
a strawman? what was a strawman? is something you don't agree with automatically a strawman? i was making a seperate point based on another point that i brought up. how on earth could that be a strawman? i raised a strawman against myself? is that what you're saying?

and can you discuss anything without being melodramatic?

"destroy our sovereignty and to illegally put power over the American taxpayer into the hand of unelected world government officials"

i mean c'mon. lets bring it down just a notch. your theories read like straight-to-dvd science fiction movies.

i think all fishmints point was was that if you're going to present something you claim is "basic science" then it should be from a credible, recognizable source.

if you want a good source for showing that gw might not be manmade, just look at NOAA's website. thats pretty much what is says.

You completely minimized the cost effect on the world economy trying to claim it would be a benefit and that people would get rich! Straw man 101, kiddo.

There's nothing melodramatic about it. Melodramatic is; "we must act now in this narrow window of time to save the planet before we all die."

See how that works?

Or you could simply open your eyes and realize it's already happening. Why not try that out for a change kiddo?

Simply dismissing the source without dealing with what it said is two fallacies in one, argument from authority and ad hominem.

FM can't tell us what he/she disagrees with about the article which anyone with a basic scientific understand should be able to do.

We are talking about basic science, certainly someone so passionate about global warming and saving the planet should know about the scientific method. But instead, it's much easier to just jump on the bandwagon as each one of these posts continues to prove.

if thats at all what i said or was talking about then maybe that would have been a strawman. but i didn't. all i did was give an EXAMPLE of the kind of economic growth that COULD occur due to the gw movement, and an EXAMPLE of a SIMILIAR scenario taking place in the "war on terror".

and people WOULD get rich, isn't that what you all have been saying? that politicians and companies will get rich off "selling" gw to the public??

you literally just used a strawman to try and prove that i used one.

i never even mentioned the "world economy".

i suppose, but in depth gw research is hardly "basic science", and i certainly wouldn't classify that first article you linked to as "basic science". it assumes the reader already has a pretty vast knowledge of the subject matter. and knowing the scientific method and then being able to follow it on ANY subject are two different things. any 6th grader knows the scientific method, but that doesn't mean they could follow it along an experiment to determine if quarks exist.

if you want basic, like i said, look at how the NOAA explains it, and explains that gw might not be manmade.

Yeah, you chose to use an example far removed for the economic reality of the situation hence the straw man.

What's the problem kiddo?

Your example gave a benefit. I'm thinking about going solar myself. But who will be able to afford that if world governments get their way and want all of the money in their hands?

For maybe the 50th time I have to tell you you don't know what a straw man is yet you keep using the words kind of like the Global Warming Flock doesn't understand basic scientific method.

Quote:

Hence the straw man kiddo!
