Re: Examples of libertarian success
The irony of you asking this question on the eve of our Independence Celebration should be a wake up call to any free man reading this post. How many times are you going to ask this question and ignore the answer because you don't like it? Don't worry, I'll answer it for you any time, any place.
Walk outside, look around. Regardless of what your kind have perverted it into, it's because of our Libertarian founding that we have come this far. But as are many things in life, it's cyclical because the majority isn't smart enough to learn from the mistakes of others. So they sell out our prosperity and force us to repeat it all over again.
No country in history has enjoyed the hegemony we have. Now buried under the weight of the warfare/WELFARE (we spend a lot more on welfare by about 4X with $50T in the pipeline) it's fading. Lucky for you, there are still enough of us who haven't lost the will to be free and haven't sold our souls for the cold comfort of the state.
Please, just stay inside tomorrow and prey to your Obama alter and do not dishonor the sacrifice of those who gave it all so you can write your drivel.

a founding that said this...
Quote:
|
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
|
Your interpretation focuses on some crazy black and white absolute hinging on "blessings of liberty" while ignoring the genius of the entire preamble. They weren't "libertarians," they were politicians forming a democratic republic as an alternative to a monarchy...WHICH probably had more "libertarian" tendencies than the new USA.

Re: Examples of libertarian success
How many times will you bring up the same General Welfare clause which the founding fathers wrote about extensively as to show your interpretation is the incorrect one. I have personally seen evidence of that shown to you at least a dozen times. You are nothing more than a religious fanatic.

Seems as clear as a "well regulated militia," if you ask me, Jefferson-Man-Crush-Guy.
