Default Obama Reneging on Iraq Withdrawal

Go ahead Obamaniacs, tell yourself that isn't really what's happening here. Tell yourself that isn't really what he meant. The more you kid yourselves now, the more it's going to hurt when the band-aid finally gets ripped off and takes the entire scab with it. Pfizer will be there with a little helper to get your through the pain.

Pretty obvious reactions......Obama haters will see it as flip-flopping & supporters will read it as what it really is: Intelligent.."leaving open all options" thinking in a fluid situation.
Difference is.......Obama has the required "tools" to do this thinking!
(GW Bush has screwed up Iraq so badly & lied so often that he has to hide behind the "I'll let the military make he decisions" for anyone to trust him. In our country, the President is supposed to set the policy & have the generals implement it. That's what Obama will do)

You can always count on Americans to do the right thing - after they've tried everything else.

I found a conflicting story:

Obama insists no change in Iraq plan

Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama insisted Thursday he had not changed his plan for immediate troop withdrawals from Iraq, despite earlier saying he might refine his policies.
Obama spoke to reporters for a second time Thursday in North Dakota, four hours after his remarks sparked reports, ahead of a planned visit to Iraq, that he was softening his plan to get all combat troops home within 16 months.
"I have seen no information that contradicts the notion that we can bring our troops out safely at a pace of one to two brigades per month," Obama said.
"This is the same position that I had four months ago, it's the same position that I had eight months ago. It's the same position that I had 12 months ago."
"My first day in office, I will bring the Joint Chiefs of Staff in, and I will give them a new mission, and that is to end this war.
"Responsibly, deliberately, but decisively."

Have you ever actually run anything? I know Obama hasn't. I am guessing you haven't. I know I have (and quite successfully, I might add).

Was I the company's best plumber? No. Was I the company's best welder? No. Was I the company's best electrician? No. I paid those people to do a job. I paid them to do things so I didn't have to. I paid them to be better than me at their craft. I told them this is what I want...find a way to do it. I trusted them to do that without my thinking I knew better how to get it done.

A little football analogy.

Can Dan Rooney run for 100 yds in an NFL football game? Can he block a 300 pound lineman? Can he throw a pass 75 yards? Can he make plays or come up with a winning game plan on any given Sunday? He hires people to do those things.

Since this whole election thing started, I have known that all of the candidates would basically handle Iraq about the same. Obama did not "flip-flop" on this, he simply lied. He knew he couldn't just pull the troops out. He said it because it sounded good...and a lot of people wanted to hear it. He wanted to get your attention. He got it. Now he has to face reality.

Of course this change of direction will be spun. He will pander to the "hate Bush, blame Bush, hate Bush, Bush lied, hate Bush" crowd. He could leave the troops in Iraq for 100 years and that crowd would say it's all Bush's fault.

Obama could have been honest about the whole thing from the beginning but that might not have gotten your attention or your vote. He is like the "benevolent" drug dealer who gives you drugs for free...at first. Once he starts charging you, he raises the price a little at a time until he knows he has you hooked.

Better go hold your wallet...and your nose.

Obama Reneging on Iraq Withdrawal Well we knew that was going to happen..

Inky, Obama will....will keep the same number of troops in Iraq, if either he or Bush attacks Iran there will be more. I would not mislead you here.

Exactly D505. Obama favors an intelligent, cautious phased withdrawl maintaining the ability to deal with any unforseen problems.

Absolute nonsense.

“Let me be as clear as I can be,” he said. “I intend to end this war. My first day in office I will bring the Joint Chiefs of Staff in, and I will give them a new mission, and that is to end this war — responsibly, deliberately, but decisively.

It's clear that Obama has a firm, intelligent plan and means business.

No Obama will tell you what you want to hear, in reality he has zero plan to pull out of Iraq. If Bush does not attack Iran Obama will, that alone will keep troops in Iraq and Afghanistan for ever. It might even make targets out of those very same troops. Sorry, but Obama is a liar...well I can't be sorry for that as it is not my responsibility, but he is a liar none the less.

I repeat, absolute unproven, dramatic nonsense.
