Measles resurrgence linked to decreased vaccinations
Quote:
For most people, measles is a mild fever with a red, blotchy rash and perhaps a runny nose or sore eyes lasting up to a week. But in a small minority of cases there can be dangerous complications – pneumonia, encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) and/or a deadly condition called subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). SSPE strikes years later, causing progressive brain damage, and is invariably fatal.
One in 15 children who contract measles will get pneumonia, and one in 1000 children who contract measles will get encephalitis. Of those who get encephalitis, one in 10 will die and one in four will be left permanently brain damaged. About one in 100,000 children who contract measles may develop SSPE.
One in 10 children who receive the MMR vaccine will suffer some discomfort, local inflammation or fever. About one in a million will experience a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) and fewer than one in a million may develop encephalitis.
However, one of the problems of a vaccine is that the more widespread and effective it is, the less people see the need for it and the more likely it is they will choose not to have it.

Measles: it's back - Health & Wellbeing
We actually have one of the highest vaccination rates in the world and had almost eliminated measles from the population - these cases have been brought in from overseas

First of all this is a fear type article. It is good that vaccinations are decreasing, people seem to be getting wise to the fact that vaccinations are dangerous, my hats off to them.

Here is what is in the MMR vaccine
hydrolized gelatin, chick embryonic fluid, and human diploid cells from aborted fetal tissue source...........
And of course some sorbital.....Avoid eating or drinking anything that contains sorbitol ... Sorbitol Official FDA information, side effects and uses.
The FDA even says to not inject sorbitol, but WTF do I know??

Yes, and penicillin is derived from bread mold. Are you trying to make the vaccine sound scary?
BTW, your source is deceptive. The MMR vaccine contains cells from lines derived from aborted fetuses. But the fetuses themselves haven't existed for decades; we're just reproducing along the same cell lines.

Re: Measles resurrgence linked to decreased vaccinations
Michael - have you actually READ the impact of measles - it is not a harmless childhood disease by any stretch of the imagination
As for your problem with sorbitol - the link you gave was to information on a 3% solution - heck mate you would read the same precautions on a 3% solution of saline!!!
Sorbitol is a common ingredient in "sugarless" sweets and the main problem it causes is too much farting

Re: Measles resurrgence linked to decreased vaccinations
You both crack me the fuck up. Look your putting aborted fetuses into your children, according to Djinn there cloned aborted fetuses. Wow I'm feeling better already. Also as I have stated, measles and mumps were common when I was a young boy, guess what, I am still here, raised 5 children and have great grandchildren. And one more thing, they will not get the shots...not on my watch.

Okay - good for you if you think you want to take a 1:1,000 chance of your child developing encephalitis - and it can happen up to eight years after the child had measles.
