illegal immigrant deportation
In southern states, busseness are unknowingly hiring illegal immigrants. When these "illegals" are found, they are immediately(allow 1-2 weeks for shipping) deported. This action deprives bussiness owners of much needed emloyees, for the work ethic of America is changing, and young americans do not want to work in the sewers, or in a factory, or at a construction site, which ultimately forces employers to hire immigrants, some of which are illegal. The US was built on immigrants, and now we are turning away more than we let in. We then dont have the people willing to get dirty in their jobs. My question is, should deportation be allowed if the "illegal" has a job, and is helping our infustructure?
I think not. Either we should just open the gates further and let more immigrants in, or we need to allow "illegals" that are able to get a job, to stay. However, this could ultimately result in an inability to hold the "illegals" from over-populationg the US. It is a very fine line we walk, what do you think?

Re: illegal immigrant deportation
Take away minimum wage and welfare, and then bam! No more need for illegal immigrants.
Anywho, "unknowingly hire illegal immigrants"? My ass!

The "illegals" fake the papers that are needed to get a job, and the employer lets him on thinking he is "legal"

That destroys the entire point of using illegal immigrants as labor anyways. They get equal pay.
Anywho, as I said, destroy minimum wage and welfare.

without minimum wage and welfare, we would have a 100% unemployment rate and 100% poverty rate. Minimum wage serves to keep the people from working for less than a living wage, though it doesnt serve its purpose very well, its better than nothing. Though we could do with less of a welfare program.

What!? No we wouldn't! That's insane. Have you studied economics at all?
Markets drive their own prices, this includes the market for workers.

Think about it.
People want money. People start a business, but they need people to work for them. They need to pick the right wage. Too little and no one would work for them, too much and they wouldn't make any profit.
So, for their own interest, they pick the correct wage.
This is why we have to put illegals on our farms and such. If the owners paid minimum wage they would make no profit, and would just lose money.
Also, we know your theory of 100 percent unemployment is false because illegals don't get paid off of minimum wage, and they still make a living.

Re: illegal immigrant deportation
maybe i just didn't get something but it sounds to me like feslin is saying that corporations should dictate wages.....umm as nice as that sounds for corporations i don't really think thats what we as society would want....though feslin makes a good point i really don't think that corporations would make the wages so great, infact they would resort probably to hoping that poor desperate people will accept the companies below average and below decency wages
